Indian Music Workshops

Venue: The Exchange bar

Saturday: 1.30pm & 2.30pm

Sunday: 1.30pm & 2.30pm

Using some of our commissioned music artists, we welcome people to join classes, ran throughout the weekend, to participate in Tabla and Manjira playing lessons.

The tabla (or tabl)  is a membranophone percussion instrument (similar to bongos), used in Hindustani classical music and in popular and devotional music of the Indian subcontinent. The instrument consists of a pair of hand drums of contrasting sizes and timbres.

The manjïrà (manjeera) is a traditional percussion instrument of India. In its simplest form, it is a pair of small hand cymbals.

These workshops will last up to 45 minutes and go through the basics of learning these instruments.
